At first I was looking at those ultra-compact digital cameras, thinking, of course, those will fit anywhere and be easy to "whip out". But after actually holding them, I decided a credit card with a lens was not for me. The other problem were the controls. I wanted to have a lot of manual control. So I guess I was looking for a mid-sized advanced point and shoot that wasn't going to cost a small fortune and had a decent zoom.
The results...

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC H10!!! It's awesome!
I have manual control, if I want it. (plus a ton of preset modes)
Oh, and as I change the ISo or the shutter speed or the f stop it shows me the change in the picture, which is awesome and will help me understand that stuff better
It's small enough to fit in my purse (a little bigger than my wallet) But big enough I can hold it and feel like I am actually holding it, not pinching it in between my fingers, hoping I won't shake - AT ALL
It has a 10x optical zoom(which is really good, btw)
And 8 mega pixels, but that wasn't nearly as important as everything else
There were a lot of great camera's out there, some with super duper zoom, but no manual controls. And some with manual controls and very slow shutter. So this is the camera for me. I'm really excited and as soon as the battery charges again I'll post some pictures I took. They aren't awesome artsy or anything, but they'll show you the quality.
